The birth of the Truck Surf Hotel

In 2017 we came up with the idea of starting a new concept to share our lifestyle and offer people the flexibility to travel with comfort and the best outdoor experiences.

So we created the Truck Surf Hotel that gives the opportunity to explore uncrowded surf spots with the best waves, natural environments and discover different cultures with “a home wherever we go”.

“Hello! I’m Daniela from Portugal, I’m a surfer and an outdoor lover! I can tell you that surf changed my life. I used to work has an Environmental Engineer, and in 2013 I decided to quit my job and make a trip to explore some amazing places to surf like Portugal, Morocco, Indonesia, Hawaii, Mexico and Brazil. While travelling, I discovered my passion about photography. Since then I’ve been working as a photographer, a surf coach and a travel guide.”

Eduardo

“Hi guys, I’m Eduardo. I’m a Portuguese surfer and a longboarder athlete. Teaching water sports is my passion, and you can count on my highly qualified experience. I’m a kitesurf instructor, a surf coach and a travel guide. I started doing surf trips 20 years ago to participate in competitions. Soon I realised that every single surf trip kept me stocked for the next one and I’m keen to share this lifestyle with you.”

Truck details

Expanding truck

We converted a Mercedes Actros in a Hotel on Wheels with special systems that allow the walls and ceiling to expand. Using a remote control, it expands into an amazing double-decker, giving the space of a home and the most comfortable accommodation.

Our Truck is 6,5m high, 13m long and 5m wide and has two floors when is fully opened.

From special walls that slide out, to private rooms with wooden walls, wide windows to enjoy the views, 2 floors, a fully equipped kitchen, a living room, a toilet, a shower and an outdoor lounge area. The Truck has a home atmosphere and it’s fully equipped. All prepared to provide you unforgettable moments.

Accommodation

First floor: Living room with a couch, a long table that can seat 10 persons and a kitchen prepared for self-catering and for cooking your meals. There’s also a video projector, a sound system and air conditioning. In the same floor you will find a toilet and also a bathroom where you can have a nice warm shower with water spray.

Second floor: Climbing up the stairs, we find a long hall to access 5 rooms – 4 rooms with bunk beds and 1 room with a double bed. You can choose either a shared or a private room. Each room has a window, USB and European plugs, boxes for storage and a key car system to lock the doors.

Outside the truck relax in our lounge area, packed with bean bags.
